Schnittstellen

Cat4 verfügt über ein zentrales Schnittstellenmodul, das für einen geordneten Datenaustausch mit anderen Anwendungen sorgt. Das Schnittstellenmodul unterstützt zwei Arten des Datenaustauschs:

  • Asynchron mittels Dateitransfer (Batch)
  • Synchron mittels WebServices (Online)

SAP Integration (Focus NetWeaver)

Cat4 provides three key interfaces to the SAP system and other systems:

1. Download / upload of files
Files (xls, csv, txt) are exported on user request (“download button”) in one system and uploaded on user request (“upload button”) in the other system.

2. Scheduled batch interface
Cat4 and SAP provide data tables via files (xls, csv, text) in a regular (e.g. daily, weekly, monthly) batch process and share these files in a shared volume.

3. Online interface via web services
Cat4 and SAP serve as consumer and provider for web service requests. Integration runs via Microsoft .Net Framework 3.5 / 4.0 and SAP NetWeaver AS ABAP.

Add 3. Online interface via web services
Cat4 is developed in C# / ASP.Net 3.5 under Visual Studio 2008. Within Cat4 several web services are responsible for various tasks like reporting, scheduled tasks or email messaging.
In order to allow online interfaces to external systems, Cat4 provides a web services library e.g. for retrieval of business case information or scheduling information.
For SAP online integration Cat4 makes use of the SAP Enterprise Services Repository (ES Repository), an add-on for Microsoft Visual Studio. The ES Repository allows the Cat4 system to connect via Microsoft WCF to the web services provided by the SAP AS ABAP system, e.g. to access cost centre data (e.g. CO-OM-WBS) or cost data of PSP elements (e.g. PS_PSP_PNR2).

Communication between Cat4 web services with NetWeaver is usually done with following technical settings:

• Synchronous/Request Reply (Request-Response, unreliable, blocking)
• SOAP 1.2, WS-A 1.0, WS-RM 1.1, Basic Auth over HTTPS

Cooperation with Draxinger & Lentz
Rather simple interfaces between Cat4 and SAP like scheduled batch interfaces are commonly configured by Cataligent in tight collaboration with the IT of our customers.
For more complex interfaces Cataligent works together with SAP specialists from Draxinger & Lentz (www.draxingerlentz.de (extern)), a company with an impressive track-record, especially in SAP CO and PS environments.
Recent projects in collaboration of Draxinger & Lentz and Cataligent are e.g. Lufthansa Systems, Sulo or Vattenfall Europe.
